Recently, I had the pleasure of taking a look at the Intrepid Travel and Camping Website. This site is an interesting combination of RVing, camping, and traveling. The website was built by a couple of entrepreneurs who are avid RVers themselves. The website offers RVers plenty of information about traveling, RVing, and all the equipment that you might need while on the road.
From time to time, there are complaints that the information on the website is too "crappy" or that the site lacks usability. For these reasons, some consumers turn to third party websites such as Intrepid Travel and Camping to get their opinions. While this is a good way to find out what other people think, not everyone will be impressed with the information that they receive. Why is that?
In this case, I am not a consumer, but a website owner. I have to admit that I am very familiar with how people feel about the many sites on the Internet that offer similar services. I have friends who are’s extensively and know the ins and outs of how each site works. I also know lots of other people who use these same websites. Therefore, when I decided to check out the Intrepid Travel and Camping Website, I really didn’t know what to expect.
I don’t know if the website provides true consumer feedback. Some people may rate the site for its design and ease of navigation. Others may rate the site for the quality of information that they are provided with. Still others will probably give the site a low score based upon price issues or perceived slipperiness in the ordering process. I can understand both of these concerns. It is important to keep in mind that the site is new, so it is important that it provides useful information and presents them in a user-friendly manner.
It is understandable that the ordering process could be a bit rough around the edges. That said, after speaking with several representatives, it appears that this is a common practice. The people who work at the company do seem to be quite helpful and courteous. In my opinion, it is still important to get quality customer service from people you are paying to service you. If this website can compete with sites like Expedia and Priceline, then it should be able to provide a reasonable service level.
One thing that I liked about the website is that they had some flexibility in terms of price. I am sure there were many people who looked at the website and saw the low prices and thought "wow, that’s a great deal"! Of course, not everyone has money to burn, so that option may not be available to every customer. In addition, it should be noted that many of the prices quoted are for a single airfare or itinerary, which is not necessarily what people want. In fact, many people would love to know how much everything would cost in the entire trip.
Another thing that struck me as impressive was the variety of information that was provided. Not only was the website easy to navigate, but it was also chock full of information on different areas of interest. It is very likely that there were many people who missed something on their original trip to Jamaica. The website is very detailed, covering all sorts of aspects related to Jamaica. As a result, the individuals that were interested in the trip were very likely to find out all the nitty-gritty details.
Another excellent aspect of this website is that all of the information is provided free of charge. If other websites are charging people for this information, then they need to be removed from the web. As a matter of fact, this policy seems to be very unique and not found in any other site on the internet. Therefore, this website is a very attractive resource for anyone seeking information on Jamaica travel. In my opinion, anyone interested in getting to know more about Jamaica should definitely check out this website. We will be back with more of our Jamaica travel tips and tricks!
